Joint Health and Safety Committees

The Occupational Health and Safety Act mandates that an employer establish a Joint Health and Safety Committee in a workplace where twenty or more workers are regularly employed.

The most effective JHSC represents all employee groups / bargaining units working together with the Board’s management members on the same joint committee.
