Videos of Visual Artists in Greater Sudbury, directed by Kathy Browning

January 8, 2014 — This series of videos gives students and educators a glimpse into the lives and careers of fourteen (14) Aboriginal, Métis, Francophone and Anglophone artists from the greater Sudbury area and Manitoulin Island.

The videos vary in length from approximately 15 to 20 minutes. There are obvious connections to Visual Arts curriculum for Arts educators but these videos may also be helpful resources for other educators looking for creative approaches to a variety of themes relevant to students today such as cultural identity, power and politics, bullying, marginalization, the environment and more.

Kathy Browning is an artist, art educator and Assistant Professor currently teaching in the School of Education at Laurentian University.
